Job summary

Citizens Memorial Hospital is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join the Community Springs Healthcare Facility team in El Dorado Springs, MO. You will assist with therapy plans, guide residents through treatment, and educate caregivers in safe handling and transfers.

The role requires completing an approved OT Aide program or state certification, with new grads welcomed and a preference for 1 year of experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Occupational Therapist Assistant Program or state-recognized certification.
• New grads welcome; 1 year of experience preferred.
• Certification by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board.
• Physical: ability to stand/walk for prolonged periods; lift up to 50 lbs with assistance; carry up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents by assessing, implementing, and evaluating therapy treatments using appropriate equipment and procedures.
• Follow plans of care established by therapists.
• Guide residents through therapy treatments including stretching, gait training, strength-building, and transfers.
• Educate nursing aides and family members on safe handling and transfer methods.
• Analyze patients' needs and progress and report observations to therapists and care team.
• Document relevant information for care planning.

Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) is seekinga CertifiedOccupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join theteam at Community Springs Healthcare Facility in El Dorado Springs, MO —someone who leads with skill, compassion, and a drive to positivelyimpactevery patient and family we serve.

• WorkShift:Days
• Hours:Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm

What Your Day Looks Like: Assisting residents by assessing, implementing, and evaluating therapy treatments utilizing appropriate equipment, supplies, and procedures.

As aCOTA, you will be:

• Followingplans-of-care established by therapists
• Guiding residents through therapy treatments including stretching, joint movement, strength-building routines, using walkers or canes, and standing safely to prevent falls
• Teaching nursing aides and family members safe handling techniques and transfer methods
• Analyzingpatients' needs and progress throughout treatment and reporting observations to therapists and other care team members
• Documenting relevant and appropriate information for care planning

Qualifications

• Education: Completion of an approved Occupational Therapist Assistant Program or other certification program recognized by the State Board of Healing Arts
• Experience:New grads welcome!1 year of experience preferred
• Skills:Customer service, time-management, problem-solving, communication
