Job summary

Senior Community Care of Michigan PACE in Lansing, MI is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our on-site team. This is a full-time opportunity under VOANS, a part of Volunteers of America.

You will work under the supervision of an OTR to provide rehab services, coordinate scheduling and documentation, and participate in an interdisciplinary care approach in a senior healthcare setting.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an Occupational Therapy Assistant curriculum accredited jointly by the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals of the AMA and AOTA.
  • Is a registered COTA in the state of employment or eligible for registration in the state.
  • A minimum of one year’s experience working with a frail or elderly population.
  • Must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before having direct participant contact.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR), optimize function and safety among participants to ensure establishment of strong rehab care practice within the Senior Community Care program.
  • Assist with planning, scheduling, mailing, transporting, filing of documents and coordinating of Occupational Therapy services offered by the department.
  • Provides Occupational Therapy to the participants under the direction of the OTR.
  • Communicates a report on the participants’ progress to the OTR and Interdisciplinary Team (IDT).

Education

Graduate from an Occupational Therapy Assistant curriculum accredited jointly by the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association

Pay Range: $27.88 - $31.54
Schedule:Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
