Whole Child Pediatric is dedicated to supporting children and their families through an innovative model of intensive occupational therapy that provides extended treatment sessions and integrates multiple evidence-based therapeutic modalities. Our approach allows therapists the time and flexibility to deliver highly individualized care, helping children build functional skills, improve sensory processing, strengthen regulation, and enhance participation in meaningful daily activities.

Therapy is designed to be engaging, relationship-based, and tailored to each child's unique strengths and needs. In addition to traditional occupational therapy interventions, therapists incorporate a sensory gym, transcranial photobiomodulation (tPBM), outdoor and nature-based therapy whenever appropriate, and animal-assisted interactions—including our therapy bunny—as part of individualized treatment plans. As our program continues to grow, there is also potential to incorporate farm animal-assisted therapy to further enrich children's therapeutic experiences.

Care is family-centered, with close collaboration among therapists, caregivers, educators, and other professionals to support meaningful, lasting progress. Role Description

The Certified Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) will provide direct, on-site pediatric occupational therapy services in Clayton, CA. This full-time role includes evaluating children, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering intensive therapy sessions focused on functional skills, sensory processing, self-care, and participation in home, school, and community activities.

Whole Child Pediatric utilizes a relationship-centered, family-centered, neurodevelopmental framework that prioritizes foundational areas of brain and nervous system development as the basis for meaningful functional progress. Rather than focusing solely on compensatory strategies, therapists support the underlying neurological systems that contribute to regulation, sensory processing, motor planning, coordination, postural control, visual-vestibular function, and participation in daily life. Intervention is individualized, child-led whenever possible, and grounded in play, movement, and meaningful engagement to promote learning through positive therapeutic experiences.

Therapists collaborate closely with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary providers to establish individualized goals, monitor progress, and adjust intervention plans based on each child's unique developmental profile. Treatment may incorporate a variety of evidence-informed therapeutic approaches, including sensory integration, vestibular and visual-vestibular interventions, primitive reflex informed movement, therapeutic movement, low-level light therapy (photobiomodulation), and functional neurology-informed principles.

Daily responsibilities include conducting intensive therapy sessions, documenting assessments and treatment sessions, maintaining timely and accurate clinical documentation, communicating effectively with families and team members, participating in care coordination and clinical collaboration, contributing to program development, supporting parent education, and upholding the highest standards of ethical, compassionate, and evidence-informed pediatric occupational therapy.
