Job summary

Lifepoint Rehabilitation, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for our Kindred Hospital Bay Area - St. Petersburg location. This PRN opportunity supports patient care across the interdisciplinary team, focusing on accurate documentation and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a Florida OTA license, AOTA certification, and CPR. You will guide patients and families in home programs, coordinate scheduling, and ensure treatment areas stay clean

Qualifications

• AOTA certification is required.
• Graduate from an accredited OTA program with an Associate's degree.
• Active Florida OTA license and CPR certification are required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate patient progress to the supervising occupational therapist and interdisciplinary team.
• Instruct patients' families or nursing staff in follow-through programs and home exercises.
• Assist with patient scheduling and post treatment charges to patient records daily.
• Document patient care accurately and in accordance with all regulatory, licensing, payer, and accrediting requirements.
• Maintain treatment equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Ensure compliance with the Company's Code of Business Conduct, Corporate Compliance Agreement, and applicable laws and professional standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

• Candidates must have certification from the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program culminating in an Associate's degree
• Current and valid state OTA license in the state of Florida
• Current CPR certification
• Strong organizational and communication skills
