Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) - Full Time, School Based

We’re seeking a talented, full-time Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our school-based services team in Tucson, Arizona.

Professional License Requirements:

Applicants must have the following, legally mandated certifications. Applicants without these will not be considered:

  • Active state licensure as an Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) in Arizona.
  • An Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
  • Passage of the NBCOT exam for OTAs.
  • Proof of at least 680 hours of supervised field experience.
  • Two signed letters of reference from a supervisor or professor.
  • Criminal background check and fingerprint submission.
  • Statement of citizenship and alien status.
What to Expect from this Role:
  • Experience working with children or in schools is a plus but not required.
  • Evaluate disorders and delays affecting students’ daily activities and educational goals.
  • Develop strategies to improve students' ability to perform tasks independently.
  • Participate as a member of the IEP team for students with occupational therapy needs.
  • Implement goals per the child's educational plan.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with school personnel and parents to develop appropriate programs.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, and parents.
  • Perform other duties within the scope of licensure and certification.
  • Ensure all services comply with state laws and regulations.
