Job summary

Ambassador Healthcare at College Park in Fort Myers, Florida, is seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our rehab team on a PRN basis. You will support residents under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist, delivering targeted OT services to promote independence and safety.

The role requires a Florida COTA license and OT program graduate, with preferred SNF/long-term care experience.

Qualifications

• Current, active Florida COTA license required.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing treatment plans based on residents' goals.
• Provide therapeutic activities to improve strength, coordination, mobility and ADLs.
• Help residents develop independence with personal care, dressing, grooming, eating, and other daily tasks.
• Monitor progress and communicate observations to the OT and healthcare team.
• Document treatments, resident responses, and progress; maintain HIPAA compliance.

Ambassador Healthcare at College Park is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. The COTA will work closely with residents, the Occupational Therapist, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide quality occupational therapy services that promote independence, safety, and improved quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans based on residents' functional needs and goals.
• Provide therapeutic activities and interventions designed to improve residents' strength, coordination, mobility, and ability to perform activities of daily living.
• Help residents develop and maintain independence with personal care, dressing, grooming, eating, and other daily tasks.
• Provide hands-on assistance and instruction during prescribed occupational therapy activities.
• Monitor residents' progress and communicate observations and concerns to the Occupational Therapist and healthcare team.
• Document treatments, resident responses, and progress accurately and in accordance with facility and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, infection control, safety, and other applicable healthcare regulations.
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and other interdisciplinary team members to support positive resident outcomes.
• Promote a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all residents.

Qualifications

• Current, active Florida COTA license required.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting is preferred but not required.
