Job summary

Waverly Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Waverly, VA is hiring a full-time Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA). The role requires a BA or Associate's in Occupational Therapy, current state license, and preferred SNF experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive OT treatment to patients under supervision of an OTR and per state guidelines.
• Identify appropriate patients and refer them to rehab accordingly.
• Document patient progress daily and obtain OTR co-signature.
• Ensure MD orders for treatments, re-certifications, and discharges.
• Assist with other documentation per state guidelines.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings as indicated by Supervisor.
• Act as rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in scheduling of patients as indicated.
• Complete billing logs and bill OT services ethically and accurately.
• Cover other therapists' patient caseload during absence.
• Supervise junior COTA staff or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with staff, patients, families.
• Provide in-service education regarding patient care to rehab staff.
• Comply with facility policies and patient confidentiality and Resident Rights.
• Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours, and present a professional image.
• Adhere to productivity requirements and submit reports timely.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere and professional communication.
• Perform all other duties assigned by supervisor or regional manager.
• Comply with HR policies re: lunch, sick and time off.

Job Responsibilities:

• 17.Adhere to productivity requirements, complete productivity reports and submit in a timely manner.
• 18.Maintain a positive work atmosphere by demonstrating and communicating in a professional manner so as to foster positive relations with customers, clients, co-workers and managers
• 19.Perform all other duties assigned by the department supervisor, lead therapist or regional manager.
• 20.Comply with all Facility HR policies re: lunch, sick and time off notification.
• 21.Adhere to any and all other Facility written and oral policies and procedures.
