Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a dedicated CNA to provide hands-on patient care in our Freeport, IL unit during night shifts.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, monitoring blood glucose, bladder scanning, telemetry, catheter and drain care, and reporting changes to the supervising RN. You will float between units and help train new team members.

Requirements include completion of a CNA program, current CNA certification in Illinois, and CPR/BLS certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to call lights promptly and document care.

  • Train/precept new partners with unit educator.
  • Monitor vital signs, BGM, catheter and drain care; telemetry as directed.

Job description

OVERVIEWProvides hands-on patient care and support, including taking vital signs, monitoring blood glucose, bladder scanning, telemetry, and assisting with catheters, drains, and other medical devices under RN supervision.
