Job summary

UCI Health is recruiting a Nursing Assistant to support patient care on the unit. You will assist with taking vital signs, aiding with hygiene and elimination, and maintaining a clean, safe environment under the supervision of nursing staff.

Responsibilities include stocking supplies, operating hospital equipment as directed, and performing routine clerical tasks as assigned. English proficiency, CNA/LVN status, and BLS certification are required, with weekend/holiday availability expected.

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in a therapeutic way.
• Demonstrated patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
• Current BLS certification upon hire (must be issued by the AHA).
• Approved workplace violence responder training program within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.

What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology
• Nursing Assistants hired prior to May 2010 who did not possess certification as a Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) are not required to obtain it at this time
• Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English
• Must be Certified Nurses Assist., Licensed Vocational Nurse, or enrolled in accredited nursing prog. with completion of at least 1 clinical semester.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in a therapeutic way
• Demonstrated patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting
• Current BLS certification upon hire (must be issued by the AHA)
• Approved workplace violence responder training program within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter
• Ability to work weekends and holidays
