Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Must read, write and understand English.
• Must complete 18 hours Continuing Education to maintain CNA certification.
• Must have completed a State approved CNA program.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties in accordance with established methods and standards.
• Provides maximum customer care services within limits defined by delegated tasks.
• Assists the nurse with admission, discharge and transfer of customers.
• Bathes the customer in bed, tub or shower; helps with hair, nails and shampoos.
• Positions customers in proper body alignment and applies safety measures.
• Assists customers in bed and during transfers; transports within the Center.
• Coordinates scheduling for OT/PT/ST to ensure timely therapy sessions.
• Accompanies customers to appointments as needed.
• Takes and records weights, BP, temperature, pulse and respiration.
• Gives skin care treatments and applies simple dressings and stockings.
• Feeds customers and assists meals; provides hydration at bedside.
• Responds to call lights, delivers messages and manages bedside needs.
• Reports changes in condition to Nurse or Supervisor.
