About the job CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT (PRN)
Our company is looking for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) PRN to join our team.
Responsibilities:
Participating in hourly rounds
Keeping the patients rooms in clean and orderly condition, including making beds
Answering patient lights and performing services in a timely manner that adds to the physical well-being of the patient
Maintaining unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
Must be able to push/pull 45 lbs
Is subject to emotionally upset residents, or family members
Appropriate ergonomic and personal safety equipment is provided as needed
Is willing to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary
A well-lighted and ventilated working area that has its own temperature control system (air conditioning and heat)
Reports faulty equipment and safety hazards to the Nurse in charge immediately
Helps residents to and from social and dining activities and encourages their participation
Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff
Immediately reports any accidents and unusual occurrences to the Charge Nurse, Nurse Manager, or Supervisor
Participates in in-service education and training and outside professional development as needed to keep in current with trends in the industry
Observes and reports all changes in a residents condition immediately to the Charge Nurse or Nurse Manager
Requirements:
Knowledge of basic nursing techniques and procedures, aseptic practices, and proficiency obtaining vital signs
Current BLS
Tolerance, patience, empathy and concern are desirable
High school diploma or equivalent
State certification as a nursing assistant mandatory
Complete familiarity with duties of a certified nursing assistant
Functional literacy in English is required
High school diploma or GED with further training to achieve certification
Able to work schedule as postedDemonstrates a strong work ethic and willingness to comply with policies and procedures
Able to follow spoken and written instructions
Genuine desire to work with the elderly
Knowledge of general sanitary and safety practices
