Job summary

St.-Johns-Rehab- is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The role focuses on comfort and safety, routine vital signs, and ADL assistance in a Florida facility.

The position requires active CNA certification in Florida, CPR, and (if applicable) Medication Administration Training for ALF settings. Strong English reading/writing skills and basic computer documentation are expected. Prior clinical experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Clear and Active CNA certification to practice in Florida.
• CPR certification required.
• Medication Administration Training (6 hours) for ALF if applicable.
• 1 year experience preferred.
• Computer skills to document services and care.
• Must read, write and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Takes and records vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight).
• Performs/assists with personal hygiene and activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Passes out nourishments and water as scheduled or requested.
• Communicates changes in patient condition to nurse each shift.
• Answers call lights within established timeframe.
• Maintains patient safety at all times.
• Floats to other units as assigned to meet care needs.
• Follow nurse instructions and provide floor orientation as needed.

Summary & Objective

The Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) under the direct supervision of the licensed nurse will provide direct patient care while maintaining patient comfort and safety.

Essential Functions

• Takes and records Vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height and weight.
• Performs/Assists with the personal hygiene and activities of daily living (ADL’s) and documents as needed.
• Passes out nourishments and water as scheduled or as requested.
• Communicates any change in patients and/or resident condition to nurse during each shift.
• Answers call lights within appropriate established timeframe.
• Maintains patient and/or resident safety at all times.

Other Duties

• Follows the instructions of the nurse in a timely and accurate manner.
• Provides floor orientation to new employees as needed.

• Floats to other units as assigned to meet patient and/or resident care needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility

• May serve as an interim department leader depending on need
