Job summary

The North Dakota Veterans Home is seeking CNAs to provide compassionate care in a long-term care facility. CNAs support residents’ daily living needs and help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, responding to call lights, monitoring vital signs, aiding meals, and helping keep the care setting organized and safe. Current North Dakota CNA certification is required.

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to provide compassionate, resident-centered care.

Duties and Tasks
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, and toileting.
  • Respond promptly to call lights and resident requests.
  • Monitor, document, and report vital signs and resident care activities.
  • Assist with meal service and feeding as needed.
  • Perform indirect resident care tasks to maintain a clean, efficient, and safe care environment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current CNA certification in North Dakota.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to provide compassionate, resident-centered care.
  • Basic knowledge of infection control, safety, and resident care standards.
  • Ability to follow instructions, document accurately, and communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
  • Physical ability to perform required duties, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, bending, and assisting residents with mobility and daily living activities.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and respecting resident dignity.
