The Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention, individual/family education groups and activities of daily living.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

Education:High school diploma/equivalent and formal nursing or medical assistant training program required. (2) years work experience with the psychiatric patient population highly preferred.

Licensure/Certification:State Nurse Aide certification required.

Knowledge:Knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors, and CPR training preferred.
