Job summary

Care New England is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse in Rhode Island. The role involves assisting with hygiene, vital signs, routine treatments, and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities include recording intake/output, assisting with enemas and dressings, ensuring a safe environment, and reporting any changes to the RN or Team Leader. Prior vocational training and RI Nursing Assistant license are required.

Qualifications

• Vocational/Technical training or equivalent required.
• More than six months job-related experience preferred or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide general patient care and routine treatments as directed by the RN.
• Assist with personal hygiene to promote comfort and well-being.
• Record intake and output as ordered and monitor patient measurements.
• Take and record vital signs and other indicated measurements.
• Assist with enemas, dressings, binders, specimens, and heat/cold applications.
• Support RN in caring for seriously ill patients and in complex procedures.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment with stocked supplies and functioning equipment.
• Document care provided and significant information accurately.
• Observe patients and report changes to RN/Team Leader.
• Attend seminars and in-services to maintain specialty knowledge.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Responsible for performing various patient care activities and related non-professional services to care for the personal needs and comfort of patients. Work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and observe all hospital policies and procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities

Provide general patient care and performs routine treatments and procedures as directed by the RegisteredProvide care, assisting with personal hygiene to promote patient’s comfort and well-being.

• Check and record intake and output as ordered.
• Take and record patient’s vital signs and other measurements as indicated.
• Give enemas, reinforce simple non-sterile dressings, apply binders, collect specimens, apply heat or cold devices and perform other routine tasks.

Assist the RN in caring for seriously ill patients or in complicated treatments or procedures.

Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment with well-stocked supplies and functioning equipment.

Maintain patient’s medical records in an orderly manner and document all care provided and significant information, legibly, accurately and completely.

Observe assigned patients and report any patient care problem, change in patient condition or unexpected occurrences to RN/Team Leader.

• Maintain current knowledge of specialty by attending seminars and in-services.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
