Job summary

Valley Health in Winchester, VA is seeking a Certified Nurse Aide for the Nursing Float. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, you will perform routine personal care, maintain a safe environment, and support patient-centered care at Winchester Rehabilitation Center and Winchester Medical Center.

This role requires a VA/WV CNA registry, BLS, and a High School Diploma (preferred).

Qualifications

• Must understand basic principles of human growth and development.
• Competent to interact with patients according to their age and needs.
• Must have a reliable means of phone communication with hospital.
• Annual flu vaccination required for Long-Term Care areas.

Job Description

The CNA, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, performs routine personal care duties for patients. Maintains a safe environment and reports any problems. Supports the mission and vision of Winchester Rehabilitation Center and Winchester Medical Center. Once experienced, may act as a preceptor in the orientation of new CNA's.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Certification & Licensures

• Registry of the Board of Nursing as a Certified Nurse Aide required.
• Must be listed on the relevant Registry of the Board of Nursing as a Certified Nurse Aide in Virginia and/or West Virginia based on work location(s) within Valley Health.
• BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart 'Healthcare Provider' (HCP) - AHA approved required. New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.

Qualifications
