Hiram W. Davis Medical Center is one of 12 inpatient facilities operated by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.
Hiram W. Davis Medical Center, located in Petersburg, Virginia, is a medical facility providing acute medical diagnoses, skilled care, intermediate care, and long-term care to individuals receiving services in DBHDS facilities and within the community that have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Admissions to HWDMC are generally either permanent placement or special hospitalization. Patients typically come to HWDMC as a special hospitalization for step-down to stabilize, post-surgery rehabilitation, or long-term care.
We are looking for candidates with knowledge of personal care needs and activities of daily living; able to read, write and communicate effectively with others; and possess the physical ability to turn, bend and lift non-ambulatory adult patients without restrictions.
Must be able to work required overtime and perform CPR.
CNA's will be expected to work multiple 12 hour shifts per week.

Certified as a nursing assistant with the Virginia State Board of Nursing.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Knowledge of documentation within EHR systems.
Experience working in a long-term care setting preferred.
