Job summary

Las Cruces Wellness is seeking compassionate nursing aide staff to provide basic nursing care to residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The role includes assisting with bathing, grooming, hygiene, and use of adaptive equipment, and explaining procedures before administration.

Schedule is full-time with shifts from 6am to 6pm. Benefits include health, dental, vision, life and 401(k) insurance, plus other standard offerings. Prior CNA experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Must have completed State Approved Nurse Aide Training and be on the State Registry as a Nurse Aide in good standing.
• Ability to communicate with residents and nursing staff; reading and writing skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care to residents under supervision.
• Assist residents with bathing, grooming, hygiene and use of adaptive equipment.
• Explain procedures to residents before administering care.
• Keep residents dry and comfortable, change gowns/linen as needed.
• Change bed linens and keep them smooth to avoid wrinkles.
• Make beds for both occupied and unoccupied rooms.

Objective

Provides basic nursing care to residents within the scope of the nursing assistant responsibilities and performs basic nursing procedures under the direction of the licensed nurse supervisor.

Principal Responsibilities

• Participates in and receives nursing report upon reporting for duty
• Assists residents with resident care including bathing, grooming, hygiene and placement of adaptive equipment
• Explains procedures to residents before administering
• Keeps residents dry (changes gown, clothing, linen, etc., when it becomes wet or soiled)
• Changes bed linens and keeps linens tight to avoid wrinkles from forming under residents
• Makes beds (occupied and unoccupied)

Qualifications

• Successful completion of State Approved Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program; Name must appear on State Registry as Nurse Aide in good standing; Ability to communicate with residents and nursing staff; Must have the ability to read and write.
• Prior experience as Nurse Aide preferred but not required
