Job summary

Highland Care Center in New York is seeking a dedicated Weekend Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our skilled nursing and rehabilitation team. You will provide direct resident care under licensed staff, promote a compassionate environment, and help residents maintain dignity and comfort in a sub-acute setting.

Weekend shifts offer competitive pay at 22.77 per hour plus shift differential, with union benefits based on hours worked.

Qualifications

• Current NYS Nursing Assistant certification.
• CPR certification preferred.
• At least 1 year Skilled Nursing experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care (grooming, bathing, dressing) of residents daily and as needed.
• Change bed linen and maintain grooming supplies in resident rooms.
• Ambulate and transfer residents using appropriate devices and body mechanics.
• Record vital signs, weights, intake/output, and other information as assigned.
• Observe residents and report changes to Charge Nurse.
• Contribute to plan of care and data collection for MDS.
• Ensure adequate hydration and assist with meals as needed.
• Take vital signs and assist with routine checks as directed.

Highland Care Center, a 320 bed Skilled Nursing Facility is currently seeking dedicated Weekend Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our staff. Summary forCertified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Perform direct resident care duties under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel. Assist with promoting a compassionate physical and psychosocial environment for the residents.

Responsibilities of Certified Nursing Assistant(CNA):

• Provide personal care (i.e., grooming, bathing, dressing, oral care, etc.) of residents daily and as needed.
• Change bed linen and maintain appropriate grooming supplies in resident room on a regular basis.
• Ambulate and transfer residents, utilizing appropriate assistive devices and body mechanics.
• Record resident vital signs, weights and measurements, intake and output, food consumption, and other information, as assigned.
• Observe residents carefully and report changes in condition to Charge Nurse.
• Participate in collecting data needed for the accurate completion of the MDS and the plan of care. Provide input to the nurses for development of the plan of care.
• Provide adequate hydration to residents at regular intervals each day according to specific resident needs.
• Prepare residents for each meal and transport to dining room (unless a bed patient) making sure that food tray is accessible, self-help devices are available (if needed), and assistance is provided to those residents who cannot feed themselves.
• Take TPR (temperature, pulse, & rate), blood pressure, weighing of residents, etc., as directed.

Requirements/Qualifications of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA):

• Current Nursing Assistant certification from New York.
• Current/active CPR certification, preferred.
• At least one (1) year Skilled Nursing experience preferred.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of company objectives.
• Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.
