Job summary

Prisma Health in Greenville is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient care as directed by licensed staff. You will assist with ADLs, monitor patient status, and maintain a safe, clean environment, reporting changes to the RN promptly.

This role requires completion of a CNA or Patient Care Tech program; no prior experience is required. CNA certification is accepted as alternate verification of training, with availability to work nights in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing patient care per individualized plan.
• Assist with activities of daily living and turning/repositioning patients.
• Provide non-sterile dressings and perineal care as delegated by RN.
• Collect data including vital signs and fluids; document in medical record.
• Perform point of care testing as trained and report results to RN.
• Assist with patient transport and call lights as needed.
• Support comfort and non-pharmacological pain management.

Job Summary

Assists in providing patient care based on the individualized plan of care for a patient. As delegated, performs basic nursing activities. Conducts data collection, monitors and documents patient status. Ensures confidentiality of all patient information. Utilizes safe patient handling at all times. Informs RN of activities performed observations of patients and changes in patient status. Provides a neat and clean patient environment.

Essential Functions

• Assists patients with activities of daily living. Turns and repositions patients alone or with assistance. May transport patients and assist with walking. Assists with fall prevention interventions and patient restraints as delegated.

• Provides patient care as delegated by the RN including, but not limited to, non-sterile soaks, application of non-sterile simple dressings, perineal care.

• Performs data collection including vital signs, fluid intake and outtake and basic and sterile specimen collection. Properly documents and maintains data on medical record and informs RN of activities performed, observations of patients and changes in patient status.

• Runs errands, answers telephone, answers and responds to call lights.

• Performs point of care testing as trained and delegated by RN. Reports lab values to RN.

• Provides and documents comfort and non-pharmacological pain management measures.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

• This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

• Education - Completion of a nursing assistant or patient care tech program.

• Experience - No experience required.

In Lieu Of

• In lieu of school verification of a nursing assistant training course, will accept current or former state CN A certification as proof of completed state required training at time of hire.
