PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield, OR is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant for the Observation Unit. This full-time 0.90 FTE night shift role focuses on hands-on patient care, compassionate support, and collaboration with a skilled care team.

You will provide direct care under RN supervision, perform essential clinical tasks, document care, and help maintain patient comfort and safety in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Current Oregon CNA certification.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Observation

PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend | Springfield, OR

Full-Time | 0.90 FTE | Night Shift

Hourly Pay Range: $ 23.25-$34.49/Hour

The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting.

What You'll Do

As a CNA in our Observation Department, you'll help patients feel comfortable, safe, and cared for during their hospital stay.

In this role, you will:

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Assist patients with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and other personal care needs.
• Help patients eat, drink, walk, reposition, and safely move in and out of bed.
• Take and document vital signs, intake/output, and other patient information.
• Observe patients closely and report changes in condition to the care team.
• Support treatments and basic clinical tasks within CNA scope of practice.
• Keep patient rooms stocked, organized, and ready to support quality care.
• Document patient care accurately in the medical record.
• Answer call lights and respond to patient needs with compassion and urgency.
• Provide clerical support such as answering phones, processing orders, and assisting with unit workflow when needed.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Current Oregon Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire, obtained through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay organized and adapt in a dynamic healthcare environment.
• Basic computer and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in an acute care or hospital setting.
• Experience caring for patients with a variety of medical needs.
• Knowledge of age-specific care and patient support across the lifespan.
