Job summary

Majestic Care of Bloomington is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the night shift to support residents with daily living activities. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is offered and you will join a team dedicated to quality care.

The CNA will assist with ADLs, monitor residents, and coordinate with the nursing staff to ensure safety and comfort. Active CNA certification is required in the state of employment, with a focus on respectful, individualized care.

Qualifications

• Certified and state-tested CNA in the state employed; certificate active and in good standing.
• Experience with ambulatory and non-ambulatory residents preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADL).
• Respond to call lights to ensure comfort, safety and privacy.
• Transport residents by ambulation or wheelchair to dining room, lobby and activities.
• Report significant findings to the nurse immediately.
• Assist residents on admission, transfer and discharge.
• Maintain safekeeping of residents’ personal possessions and keep rooms neat and safe.
• Follow proper infection control techniques and respect privacy and confidentiality.
• Re-teach residents to perform ADL skills and provide restorative care.
• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement and ensure follow-up occurs.
• Converse with residents and families to assist adjustment to the community.
• Ensure adequate hydration and nutrition and report deviations from norm to Charge Nurse.
• Perform vital signs (BP, pulse, respirations, intake/output) accurately.

Position Overview:

The CNA is a member of the community nursing team whose responsibility is to assist professional nursing personnel by delivering direct hands-on nursing care to ambulatory and non-ambulatory residents on a daily basis. The CNA is also responsible for assisting the residents to achieve the highest level of functioning while living as normal a lifestyle as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

• To perform or assist the resident with completing Activities of Daily Living (ADL).
• Respond to residents call lights to provide maximum comfort, safety and privacy.
• Transport residents by ambulation or by wheelchair to areas of community (dining room, lobby and activities).
• Report any significant findings/observations to nurse immediately.
• Assist residents on admission, transfer and discharge to make a smooth transition.
• Responsible for the safekeeping of residents’ personal possessions.
• Keep resident rooms neat and safe.
• Follow proper infection control techniques
• Respect the rights of each resident, particularly privacy and confidentiality.
• Re-teach resident to perform ADL skills.
• Provide restorative care to prevent pressure sores, contractures, and complications.
• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement and ensures follow-up occurs.
• Converse with resident and family; assist them on adjustment to the community.
• Ensure adequate hydration and nutrition of resident; report deviations from norm to the Charge Nurse promptly.
• Perform blood pressure, pulse, respirations, intake/output and weights accurately.

Qualifications:

Certified and state tested as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the state employed; certificate must be active, valid, and in good standing.
