Job summary

MediLodge of Livingston in Howell, MI is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide basic nursing care under supervision and assist residents with daily living activities. You will contribute to a patient-centered, compassionate team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Valid CNA certification in the state of employment.
• Six months of long-term care experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and families.

Responsibilities

• Answer signal lights and determine resident needs.
• Assist residents with grooming, hygiene, bathing, and incontinence care.
• Obtain food trays and assist residents with feeding.
• Assist with range of motion exercises and transfers to wheelchair or activity areas.
• Assist residents with turning, positioning in bed, and ambulation for short distances.
• Take and record vital signs as directed.

Summary: The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) under supervision, provides basic nursing assistance and assists residents with daily living activities.

Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Licenses/Certification:

Valid certification as a CNA in the state of employment.

Experience:

Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.

Job Functions:

• Answers signal lights and bells to determine resident needs.
• Assists residents with grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, hair, and incontinence care.
• Obtains food trays and assists residents with feeding.
• Assists residents with range of motion exercises, and movement to wheelchair or activity areas.
• Assists resident with turning and positioning in bed.,
• Assists resident with ambulation for short distance in facility.
• Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output, as directed.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and facility staff.
