Job summary

Tenet Healthcare seeks a Nursing Assistant for a full-time day shift in Harlingen, TX. Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, you will provide basic and intermediate nursing care across multiple units including Maternal Child, Endoscopy, Emergency, and Behavioral Health as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma; certification as a nurse's aide or related fields and BLS/CPR certification; hospital experience preferred. Sign-on bonus may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current state or national nurse's aide certification or a certification as phlebotomist, medical technician, patient care technician, medical assistant, EKG tech or in another related field.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic and intermediate nursing care under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Care for patients across multiple units as assigned.
• Complete established competencies within the introductory period and perform related duties as assigned.

Under close supervision of a licensed nurse, provides basic and intermediate nursing care for assigned group of patients based on competence.

General Nursing Units care for patients from age 18 years to maturity. Unit specific variation may apply.

Special Care Areas care for patients 18 years through adult with high-risk conditions.

Maternal Child Units: Labor and Delivery care includes patients who have a pregnancy related condition.

Nursery care includes care for the newborn until discharge.

Endoscopy Unit cares for patients 18 years and older.

Emergency Department provides care to patients of all ages.

Behavioral Health/Gero-Psych Unit provides care for patients 17 years and older requiring psychiatric care. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent.
