Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nurse Assistant I to support nursing staff by delivering basic nursing care and specified treatments to assigned patients under the direction of the RN. This role requires NC Nurse Aide I certification, BLS, and a high school diploma.

Shifts are 7pm–7am, with three 12-hour shifts weekly and every third weekend rotation, offering a pay range of $19.80–$29.70 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the nursing process by providing direct care under RN direction.
  • Performs procedures under RN guidance.

  • Ensures accurate and timely communication of patient information.
  • Communicates with team, patients and families professionally.
  • Demonstrates personal accountability for performance and professional development.
  • Delivers age/developmentally appropriate care per guidelines.

The Nurse Assistant I provides assistance to the nursing staff by rendering specific treatments in addition to basic nursing care to assigned patients. Delivers direct and indirect care following physician and nursing orders to achieve the highest standards of age/developmental specific care.

Job Requirements
  • Completion of a North Carolina approved Nurse Aide I course
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support Provider Certification
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Key Responsibilities
  • Participates in the implementation of the nursing process by giving direct care to patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Performs special procedures correctly under the direction of Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Creates and maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, self, co-workers, and facility.
  • Ensures complete, accurate and timely communication of patient information.
  • Communicates to the team, co-workers, patients and family members in an effective, positive and professional manner.
  • Takes personal responsibility and initiative for performance, professional growth and development.
  • Provides age/developmental appropriate patient care in accordance with Age/Developmental Specific Care Guidelines for the specific age groups served.
