Job summary

Atrium Health is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the Day Hospital unit (32 beds) at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. The role supports fast-paced care with direct patient assistance under the RN, in a 3-12 hour shift pattern and weekend/holiday rotations.

Requires a High School Diploma or GED and completion of a State Approved Nurse Aide I course plus BCLS. 36 hours per week, full-time status; benefits eligible.

• Completion of a State Approved Nurse Aide I course required. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the implementation of the nursing process by giving direct care to patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN).
• Performs special procedures correctly under the direction of Registered Nurse (RN).
• Creates and maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, self, co-workers, and facility.
• Ensures complete, accurate and timely communication of patient information.
• Communicates to the team, co-workers, patients and family members in an effective, positive and professional manner.
• Takes personal responsibility and initiative for performance, professional growth and development.
• Provides age/developmental appropriate patient care in accordance with Age/Developmental Specific Care Guidelines for the specific age groups served.

Day Hospital is a fast-paced 32 bed medical-surgical short stay unit serving nearly every service in the hospital. The unit also has a 4 chair infusion suite that is used for a variety of infusions.

Education/Experience

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, And/or REGISTRATION

• Completion of a applicable state State Approved Nurse Aide I course required. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
