Job summary

Nyack Ridge Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Valley Cottage, NY is seeking compassionate, dependable Certified Nursing Assistants to join our nursing team. Shifts available: Day 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM and Evening 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM.

As a CNA you will assist residents with ADLs, mobility, meals, and vital signs; observe changes and report to the nurse. You will provide emotional support, dignity, and respect, while maintaining a clean, safe environment.

Qualifications

• Current New York State CNA certification required.
• Experience in a skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, assisted living, or healthcare setting is preferred.
• New CNA graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate and respectful approach to resident care.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Assist residents with mobility, transfers, positioning, and ambulation.
• Help residents with meals and food as needed.
• Take and record vital signs and other resident information as directed by nursing staff.
• Observe residents and promptly report changes in condition, behavior, or needs to the nurse.
• Answer calls and respond to resident requests in a timely and courteous manner.
• Provide residents with emotional support, companionship, dignity, and respect.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for residents.
• Follow infection-control, safety, and facility policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with nurses, supervisors, residents, families, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Accurately complete required documentation.
• Perform other resident-care duties as assigned by the nursing team.
