Job summary

Cantex seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to deliver direct patient care under nursing supervision, assisting with daily living activities and documenting observations. You will help maintain a safe, clean care environment and promote patient independence within individualized care plans.

Teamwork with nursing staff is essential to support quality care and positive outcomes. Must hold current CNA certification and be able to lift and transfer patients safely; strong English communication

Qualifications

• Current state certification as a Nursing Assistant is required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
• Ability to lift, move, and transfer patients safely.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services to assigned patients in accordance with care plans and safety procedures.
• Document patient care activities and observations per policies.
• Promote patient independence and quality of life when possible.
• Communicate patient status updates to the supervising Charge Nurse at shift start and end.
• Observe patient conditions and document findings as required.
• Maintain a safe, clean, hazard-free environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Follow safe lifting, positioning, transferring, and patient assistance procedures.
• Ensure care equipment and devices are clean, functional, and charged; report malfunctions.
• Participate in in-service education, certification maintenance, and training.
• Perform incidental housekeeping tasks to support a safe care environment.
• Serve as a team leader and role model while supporting abuse prevention and patient safety.

Overview

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct patient care and daily nursing support in accordance with individualized care plans, established standards of care, and applicable policies and procedures. This role assists patients with routine care needs, monitors and reports changes in patient condition, supports patient safety initiatives, and promotes independence whenever possible. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) works collaboratively with nursing staff to support quality patient care and positive clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services to assigned patients in accordance with care plans, safety procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Document patient care activities and observations in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Promote and support patient independence and quality of life whenever possible.
• Communicate patient status updates and care concerns to the supervising Charge Nurse at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Observe patient conditions, contribute relevant clinical information, and document observations as required.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Follow established procedures for safe lifting, positioning, transferring, and assisting patients.
• Ensure care-related equipment and mobile devices remain clean, functional, and properly charged, and report malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Participate in required in-service education, certification maintenance activities, and Patient Care Management Systems training.
• Perform incidental housekeeping or maintenance tasks necessary to support a clean and safe care environment.
• Serve as a team leader and role model while supporting abuse prevention, patient safety, and quality care initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
