Job Summary

Port Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team. As a CNA, you will perform routine tasks as assigned by the Charge Nurse and provide assistance to professional nursing staff to meet the personal needs and comfort of our residents. Responsibilities

• Perform daily tasks as assigned by the Charge Nurse, including assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), vital signs, and vital statistics
• Provide emotional support and comfort to residents
• Document resident care and maintain accurate medical records
• Assist with meal service, feeding, and nourishment
• Participate in informal and formal resident care meetings as requested
• Perform other related duties as needed

Requirements

• C.N.A. certification as evidenced by completion of Nurse's Aide Training Program approved in accordance with the State of Massachusetts Public Health Code and a passing score on the MA Nurse's Aide Certification Exam
• Clean ASI registry check
• Previous CNA experience desirable, but not essential
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English; ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position assignment
• Ability to cope with the mental, emotional, and physical stress of the position
• Ability to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day, proper body mechanics required - bending, stooping, turning, stretching, and reaching above the shoulders are involved
• Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics/equipment that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Mechanical devices are provided and are required to assist in proper lifting techniques
