Job summary

Ohio Living in Kentucky seeks a compassionate CNA to provide personalized care and support to residents, following individual plans and safety policies.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, observing residents, and communicating changes to the clinical team. A high school diploma and a valid CNA on the state registry are required; memory-care experience is preferred for serving seniors.

Qualifications

  • Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) in good standing on the Ohio Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry required.
  • One year of experience with seniors with memory loss preferred and a desire to serve and care for seniors.
  • Experience in a long-term care or related healthcare setting preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

  • Observes residents and reports changes to the Care Coordinator or clinical team.
  • Assists residents with activities of daily living and mobility.
  • Adheres to each resident’s individual service plan and maintains safety guidelines.
  • Protects and respects resident rights while delivering compassionate care.

The Caregiver - CNA provides personalized care and service, upholds the philosophy of assisted living, and well being of the residents. Provides assistance and support with residents’ activities of daily living.

Resident Services
  • Provides quality care and assistance to residents in accordance with the community philosophy, policies and resident rights
  • Observes residents within patient care policy guidelines and immediately report any conditions requiring attention to the Care Coordinator.
  • Assists residents in meeting their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
  • Adheres to each resident’s individual service plan, notify the clinical director and care coordinator of any changes in the resident’s condition.
  • Ambulates and transfers residents as needed utilizing appropriate assistive devices and body mechanics.
  • Assists residents with their activities of daily living.
  • Launders the residents’ personal clothes, sheets, and towels according to schedule.
  • Launders household items according to schedule.
  • Interacts with residents to ensure that quality care and positive resident/staff relations are taking place.
  • Accountable for residents care in conjunction with the Clinical Director and other disciplines within the community to ensure quality care.
  • Completes daily assignments and reports problems to supervisors.
  • Follows safety guidelines according to community policies and procedures.
  • Offers choices, maintains dignity, and promotes individuality for all residents.
  • Protects and maintains resident rights.
  • Carries out all duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Communications
  • Attends all regular staff meetings and required training sessions.
  • Effectively communicates information pertaining to the residents on a “need to know” basis to other team members according to the community policies and procedures.
  • Notifies your supervisor or the clinical director if you observe a change in a resident’s condition.
  • Accountable for compliance, excellence and delivery of residents care in adherence with organization, local, state and federal regulations.
  • Maintains a positive and professional manner toward residents, visitors, families and co-workers.
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures of Ohio Living.
Qualifications Education

Physical Job Requirements

To fulfill job requirements, employee must be able to perform key physical task for extended periods of time. When supporting, lifting or transferring residents, proper body mechanics and safety measures as prescribed by the residence must be used.

In a typical eight- hour day, employee will:

  • Stand/walk up to 8 hours a day
  • Sit up to 2 hours a day
  • Frequently support up to 70 pounds
  • Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds
  • Frequently kneel, bend, and reach
