Job summary

vTech Solution is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Behavioral Health - Psych unit in Hawaii. You will provide direct patient care, assist with daily living activities, monitor conditions, and support nursing staff while maintaining safety and comfort for patients.

Some duties include sitter responsibilities on the Medical-Surgical unit, taking vital signs, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Active CNA license in Hawaii.
• Minimum 1 year experience in behavioral health or similar setting preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, challenging environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living including hygiene, mobility, and feeding.
• Monitor and document patient behavior and report changes to nursing staff.
• Provide sitter services on the Medical-Surgical unit as needed to ensure patient safety.

• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.

This role includes assisting patients with daily living activities, monitoring patient conditions, and performing delegated clinical tasks. The CNA may also work as a sitter on the Medical-Surgical unit, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential to support patient care in both behavioral health and medical-surgical settings.

Required Skills & Certifications:

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working on Medical-Surgical units or with sitter responsibilities.
• Familiarity with behavioral health patient care protocols and safety procedures.

Special Considerations:

• May be assigned to both Behavioral Health - Psych unit and Medical-Surgical unit as a sitter.
• Work may involve exposure to patients with behavioral health challenges requiring patience and vigilance.
• Compliance with facility policies and safety standards is mandatory.

Scheduling:

• Combination of 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week.
• Shifts may include days and/or nights.
