Job summary

Majestic Care of Carmel is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team and support residents daily with hands-on nursing care. The CNA helps residents achieve the highest possible level of functioning while living as normal a lifestyle as possible.

As part of the community nursing team, you will perform ADLs, respond to call lights, assist with admissions and transfers, monitor vital signs, and follow infection control procedures.

Qualifications

• Certified and state-tested CNA in the state employed.
• Certificate must be active, valid and in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADL).
• Respond to residents call lights to provide maximum comfort, safety and privacy.
• Transport residents by ambulation or by wheelchair to areas of the community (dining room, lobby and activities).
• Report any significant findings/observations to nurse immediately.
• Assist residents on admission, transfer and discharge to make a smooth transition.
• Responsible for the safekeeping of residents’ personal possessions.
• Keep resident rooms neat and safe.
• Follow proper infection control techniques.
• Respect the rights of each resident, particularly privacy and confidentiality.
• Re-teach resident to perform ADL skills.
• Provide restorative care to prevent pressure sores, contractures, and complications.
• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement and ensures follow-up occurs.
• Converse with resident and family; assist them on adjustment to the community.
• Ensure adequate hydration and nutrition of resident; report deviations from norm to the Charge Nurse promptly.
• Perform blood pressure, pulse, respirations, intake/output and weights accurately.
