Job summary

Citadel Healthcare in Glenview, IL seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our care team. The CNA assists residents with daily living activities, monitors health indicators, and collaborates under the supervision of a licensed nurse.

Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, dressing, mobility, nutrition, and comfort; recording vital signs and reporting changes promptly; and supporting the nursing staff to ensure quality care. CPR certification and state CNA license are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required and active CNA license.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English; basic computer aptitude.
• Teamwork with nursing staff; ability to follow directions and document care.

Job description

The Citadel of Glenview is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join their team! The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) helps patients/residents with comprehensive and personalized health care needs under the supervision of a nurse. The CNA assists patients/residents with activities of daily living to include bathing, dressing, eating, grooming, toileting and exercising.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Duties and Responsibilities:

• Under the direction of the Director of Nursing or CNA Supervisor, the CNAs work closely with the nursing staff to ensure coordination of patient care.
• Provides physical support for patients/resident's daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, grooming, transferring to/from bed, toileting, walking, standing, or exercising.
• Assists patients with daily medication and supplements.
• Ensures proper resident/patient diet based on their dietary restrictions.
• Examines patients for open wounds, bruises, or blood in urine.
• Notes and communicates patient/resident behavior and changes in mood.
• Cleans rooms and bed linens.
• Checks and records vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Answers to patient calls and needs.
• All other duties, as assigned.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Qualifications and Skills:

• Good collaboration and teamwork skills with the nursing staff.
• Familiarity with symptoms and signs of improvement for a number of medical conditions.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• State Certified Nursing Assistant License/Certification.
• Must be CPR Certified.

Physical Requirements:

• Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
• Must be able to push, pull move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
• May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
• Meet all health requirements as needed.
