Job summary

Omni Continuing Care Center in Detroit, MI is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to care for residents under supervising RN/LPN. The role includes assisting with daily living activities, monitoring health, and supporting the care team in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• CNA must be certified and in good standing with the state registry.
• Experience providing direct resident care and ADLs.
• Must meet state and federal background check requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, incontinent care as applicable, oral hygiene and feeding.
• Measure and record vital signs, weight, intake/output as directed.
• Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and position using proper body mechanics and lift equipment as applicable.
• Respond promptly to call lights, resident needs, and changes in condition; report observations to licensed nursing staff.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation and in accordance with facility procedures.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a positive living environment.
• Maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
• Contributes to the residents’ assessment (MDS/CAA’s) and the plan of care.

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) cares for residents under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse or a licensed practical/vocational nurse. This role assists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), ensures a safe and comfortable environment, and supports licensed nursing staff in delivering individualized care in accordance with regulatory requirements and facility policies.

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Graduate/GED

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• Must be a State Tested Nursing Assistant in good standing with the certification board or is a graduate of a state approved nursing assistant training program and passed a state approved competency examination (written and skills) within 120 days of employment; name entered into state nurse aide registry.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Meets all state and federal criminal background check requirements.
