Job Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant provides routine daily nursing care and services to residents according to their assessment and care plan, under the supervision of nursing staff. The CNA is responsible for carrying out duties in compliance with federal and state regulations and company policies.

Essential Job Functions

1. Record all entries on flow sheets, notes, charts, etc.
2. Report changes in residents' conditions to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse
3. Perform assigned tasks following facility policies and supervisor instructions
4. Follow work schedules and assignments
5. Prepare residents’ rooms for new or returning residents
6. Inventory and mark residents’ personal possessions as instructed
7. Transport residents as needed
8. Assist residents with oral hygiene, bathing, dressing, hair care, nail care, and shaving
9. Keep residents dry and comfortable
10. Make beds and maintain records of intake and output
11. Assist in medical tests and participate in activity and social programs
12. Ensure residents’ personal care needs are met and provide post-mortem care when required

Job Qualifications

• Active CNA certification in the state of employment
• Genuine desire to work with elders and individuals with limited self-care capacity
• Physical and mental ability to perform job duties
• Ability to work with diverse personality types
• Creative initiative, mature judgment, courteous, empathetic, and professional attitude
• Minimum age of 18 years
• Maintain confidentiality and effective communication skills
• Transportation for flexible scheduling

Education/Experience

• GED and 120-hour CNA certification course
• Licensed CNA as per state laws
