Job summary

Visiting Angels Abilene is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide compassionate care to seniors in the Big Country area. Flexible shift options include 8-, 10-, 12-hour, part-time and PRN roles, with weekly pay and benefits support.

You will assist with mobility, personal care, meal prep, light housekeeping, transportation, and companionship while promoting dignity and independence in clients' homes. Training in dementia and Alzheimer's care is available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Passion to serve others and be a caregiver.
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
• Strong ethics and compassionate demeanor.
• Good time management and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor's appointments, walks, etc.)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
• Do the client's shopping or accompany them when they shop
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can't complete on their own
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
