LifeCare Medical Center in Roseau, MN is seeking a part-time Certified Nursing Assistant to provide compassionate resident care on-site. The role supports daily living activities within a homelike setting and requires active MN nurse aide registration.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of nurse aide training and competency evaluation approved by Minnesota within 4 months of hire.
• Meets MN regulatory requirements for CNA licensure and is active on the MN State Nurse Aide registry.
• 2+ years as CNA in skilled nursing preferred; geriatric care experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing and nursing-related services in accordance with the resident care plan.

• Support resident-centered care and participate in interdisciplinary team planning.

What you’ll get to do in this role:

Maintaining a "home" in the physical environment, maintaining a sense of welcoming, enhancing relationships in the household through shared activities of living, promoting compassionate services among the team by offering emotional, psychological and spiritual support to all residents including evaluating and addressing the successes and need of the household.

Promoting the residents’ well-being and satisfaction by supporting resident-centered care, participating in the interdisciplinary team as it establishes and implements the residents’ plan of care with the resident/resident representative.

Participates in a quality work team by promoting teamwork to provide resident-centered care, participating in team problem solving methods and team/individual successes. Including participating in supportive orientation and training of new staff.

Maintaining a safe, comfortable and functional environment by assessing the household for potential hazards, utilizes appropriate techniques regarding sanitation, infection control, hazardous waste management, fire safety, disaster preparedness and emergency care.

Demonstrates support for organizational fiscal viability through efficient and effective use of all resources of the household, including supplies and availability of resources.

Dementia Sensitivity: able to demonstrate and nurture care practices for persons with dementia that meet needs while promoting individualized person-center care and sense of well-being.

You’re an excellent fit, if you have:

• successful completion of nurse aide training and competency evaluation program approved by the State of Minnesota within 4 months of the hire date
• met regulatory requirements for certified nursing assistant in the State of MN
• 2or more years on the job experience as a certified nursing assistant in skilled nursing facilty preferred
• training and experience in geriatric nursing preferred
• active on the MN State Nurse Aide registry
• excellentinterpersonal relationship skills and be committed to providing person centered care
• good infection control practices
