Job summary

NITELINES USA, INC is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for a State of Florida psychiatric hospital in Chattahoochee. Work 3 days a week, 12-hour shifts from 7:00am to 7:30pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. A one-week orientation and shadowing with DCF nurses are required.

Location is FL-DOH Chattahoochee, with on-site duties driving state vehicles to appointments as needed. Candidates must meet CNA and BLS requirements and be able to lift 20 lbs. SHIFTS can include extended hours.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age at time of hire.
• Must possess a current Certified Nursing Assistant license in Florida.
• Must possess a BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Must be able to complete full, two-week orientation at time of hire.
• Must be able to fulfill physical requirements including lifting 20 lbs., remaining alert on duty, and working 16-hour shifts on occasion.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all aspects of resident care as assigned by the nurse/shift supervisor, including activities of daily living, ambulation, mobility, and nutrition.
• Observe, identify, and report resident concerns or needs to the shift supervisor.
• Document information factually and objectively, within acceptable time frame as defined by facility policy.
• Provide safe and supportive observation and effectively monitor assigned residents.
• Complete assignments timely, completely, accurately and in a cooperative manner.
• Provide the necessary assistance with activities of daily living nursing care: oral hygiene, bathing, dressing, grooming, hair and nail care, shaving, toileting, eating and drinking, and mobility.
• Assist with monitoring and accountability of residents to enable medical personnel to accomplish health related tasks.
• Display professionalism throughout employment including arriving on time, accurate timesheets, and professional appearance.

Job Summary

This is a State of Florida Psychiatric Hospital which operates 24/7, 7 days a week. It currently has 223 buildings on campus with a capacity of 1,334 patients. Some patients as young as 13 yrs old. The hospital's current administration building is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Hours

3 days a week, 12-hour shifts 7:00am-7:30pm (30-minute unpaid lunch).

Note

Candidates will need to attend a one-week orientation, working Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm in classroom then one week shadowing DCF nurses.

Job Description

Two categories of patients are treated at the hospital; those civilly committed under Statute 394, who represent a small portion of the hospital's residents; and those forensically committed under Statute 916. The Civil portion of the hospital houses adult and elderly individuals who have been civilly committed to the hospital, and forensic residents who have been "stepped down" to the civil unit. The civil units are also known as Forensic Transition units. Forensic ward entry has security guards and a metal detector. Most patients are ambulatory young adults age 20-25. Facility also has a small geriatric dorm.

Driving requirement

Employees will be required to drive state vehicles transporting patients to outside facility doctor appointments and hospitals. Some may be required to be a "sitter" with the patient during an outside hospital stay.

Candidate responsibilities
