Job summary

Sterling Village, a retirement and nursing community, seeks a compassionate certified nurse aide to assist residents under supervision of nursing and medical staff.

Responsibilities include attending to residents' daily care, taking vital signs, helping with meals, mobility, and ensuring a clean, safe environment. Prior experience in long-term care is preferred.

This role may be offered as part-time or full-time, with non-exempt status and opportunities to work with a dedicated care team.

Qualifications

• Certified as a nurse aide in the state of Kansas.
• One year of experience in the long-term care setting preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speaking the primary language of the residents.

PrimaryAccountabilities:

Caresfor residents in the retirement and nursing community under direction ofnursing and medical staff.

MajorDuties:

• Answerssignal lights, bells, or intercom system to determine residents' needs.
• Bathes,dresses, and undresses residents.
• Servesand collects food trays and feeds residents requiring help.
• Transportsresidents or assists residents to walk.
• Drapesresidents for examinations and treatments and remains with residents toperform such duties as holding instruments and adjusting lights.
• Turnsand repositions bedfast residents, alone or with assistance, to preventbedsores.
• Changesbed linens, runs errands, directs visitors, and answers telephone.
• Takesand records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates, and foodand fluid intake and output, as directed.
• Cleans,sterilizes, stores, prepares, and issues dressing packs, treatment trays, andother supplies.
• Dustsand cleans residents' rooms.
• Performsadditional duties as assigned.

RequiredQualifications:

• Certified as anurse aide in the state of Kansas.

  • Ability toadd, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using wholenumbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• CognitiveDemands:

• ComputerSkills:

  Ability torespondto computerized logs and notification of location of resident calls.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand, walk and sit for extended periodsof time.
• Worknormally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operatecomputer keyboard at a moderate skill level.
• Ability to read computer screens and email, mail andtalk on the phone.
• Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
