10 months, 35 hours, 182 days
Bargaining Unit: This position is part of the non-supervisory support services bargaining unit
FLSA: Non exempt

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified as a CNA in good standing with the Maryland Board of Nursing.
• Current CPR certification.
• 2 years’ experience as a CNA in pediatric or adolescent health care is preferred.
• Position requires training in Certified Medication Technician School Health within six months of employment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Under the direction of the school RN: Provide routine care for minor and acute illnesses and chronic disorders.
• Provide immediate care for accidents and injuries ranging from minor to life threatening.
• Assist with hearing and vision screenings in assigned schools as well as other schools upon request.
• Assist with prevention and control of communicable diseases.
• Administer and record medications and specific treatments as ordered by physician. Observe for medication/treatment side effects and report to school nurse.
• Assist in managing lice control efforts.
• Assist with record keeping, report preparation, and inventory of health supplies.
• Other job-related duties as assigned.
