General Summary of Position

Job Summary:

MedStar Health is looking for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team at Montgomery Medical Center! We seek a CNA with knowledge of computerized clinical information systems, such as Clinicians View, Chart View, etc., and familiarity with HIPAA policies on Confidentiality.

As a CNA, you will help provide direct and indirect patient care according to established procedures, caring for the adult and geriatric population under the supervision of an RN.

Primary Duties:

1. Perform basic, routine, and specialized tasks in the assigned department under RN supervision. Meet patients' needs (baths, linen changes, bedpans, water pitchers, etc.), assist with ambulation, positioning, elimination, personal hygiene, activities of daily living, and routine comfort measures. Transport and transfer patients, provide nourishments, participate in shift reports, observe and report patient conditions, and ensure patient comfort, privacy, and dignity.
2. Maintain a clean, safe, and prepared work environment. Prepare patient areas for admissions, clean equipment, restock supplies, and check sterile supplies for sterility integrity.
3. Assist in the collection and reporting of patient data. Monitor and record vital signs and care procedures accurately. Display professionalism in interactions and maintain flexibility to meet departmental needs.
4. Maintain current knowledge, certifications, and licensure. Attend continuing education and mandatory training programs, completing all requirements timely.
5. Work effectively within and between departments. Participate in inter-departmental teams and communicate knowledge appropriately. Demonstrate constructive interactions with staff and management.

Qualifications:

• Experience in a hospital setting.
• Current nursing school student.
• CPR certification.
• High School Diploma / GED, or completion of a CNA, medical corpsman program, or 6 months of equivalent experience in an acute care setting.
• If a nursing student, must have completed fundamentals of nursing, one clinical rotation, and hold a CNA license.

This position offers a hiring range of $17.50 - $28.73.
