Job summary

Ascentria Care Alliance's Luther Ridge unit is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct resident care, document vital signs and weights, and assist with feeding and personal care. The role emphasizes safety, privacy, and adherence to facility procedures while supporting residents' psychosocial well-being.

The position requires a state-certified CNA, a high school diploma or equivalent, and prior geriatrics experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to feed, bathe and dress residents.
• Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with the residents and personnel.
• Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset people within the facility.
• Must follow the facilities and the organization policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to residents and ensure needs are met in accordance with laws and standards.
• Report unusual resident signs and symptoms to nurse in charge.
• Complete and document BP’s, TPR’s and weights of residents.
• Document on Nursing Assistant Flow Sheets and complete bath, bowel and restraint sheets.
• Safeguard residents wearing restraints and perform safety rounds.
• Serve meal trays, assist and/or feed residents, and record nourishment percentages.
• Respect and protect resident property and belongings.
• Interact with residents to enhance psychosocial well-being.
• Follow safety, privacy procedures and use of transfer devices for resident transfers.
• Attend meetings and mandatory training, maintain certification as a nursing assistant.
• Assist staff and residents in emergency situations and provide excellent customer service.

Job description

Provide direct care to resident and ensure that the needs of each resident are met in accordance with all laws, regulations and standards of the Luther Ridge, a subsidiary of Ascentria Care Alliance.

Responsible for reporting any unusual resident signs and symptoms to nurse in charge.

Complete and document assigned BP’s, TPR’s and weights of residents.

Accurately document on Nursing Assistant Flow Sheets, bath, bowel and restraint sheets records.

Safeguard residents wearing restraints which include making safety rounds at the beginning and end of each shift.

Serve meal trays, assist and/or feed residents, as needed. Record meal and nourishment percentages consumed by resident and report to nurse in charge.

Respect, protect and give proper care to resident’s property and personal belongings.

Interact with resident to enhance their psychosocial well-being.

Adhere to all safety and privacy procedure for residents including: use of transfer belts, Hoyer lifts, appropriate number of people required for safe resident transfer and use of privacy curtains during personal care.

Be aware of and follow designated procedures for resident accident, fire drills, stat pages and use of emergency equipment.

Be aware of and follow designated procedures for the reporting system regarding resident abuse, mistreatment and neglect.

Be aware of and promote Resident’s Rights and Quality of Life issues.

Maintain confidentiality of resident information.

Complete extra assignments to keep the nursing unit clean and orderly.

Attend appropriate meetings, in-service programs and yearly mandatory educational programs.

Fulfill in-service requirement to maintain certification as a nursing assistant.

Adhere to established safety procedures.

Assist staff and residents in emergency situations

Provides excellent customer service to all who interact with the program.

Perform other duties as assigned
