Job summary

Spine & Sports Surgical Center is seeking a dependable CNA to support our nursing team with pre-operative patient preparation, transport, and daily center activities. You will help patients feel comfortable, safe, and cared for during their visit.

Under RN supervision, you will obtain vitals, assist with transfers, restock supplies, and uphold infection control and patient privacy standards to ensure a smooth perioperative workflow.

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification required.
• Previous CNA or patient care experience preferred.
• Surgery center or pre-op care experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and patient-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and assist with changing into surgical gowns and settling in the pre-op area.
• Obtain and document vital signs as assigned and report concerns to the RN.
• Assist with toileting, mobility, positioning and basic patient care needs.
• Safely transport patients between pre-op, procedure rooms and recovery areas using wheelchairs or stretchers.
• Assist with patient transfers using appropriate equipment and team support.
• Escort patients to their designated ride after discharge is authorized by the nurse.
• Clean and prepare patient care spaces and equipment between patients per facility protocols.
• Restock linens and supplies and help keep patient care areas organized.
• Follow infection prevention, patient privacy and safety procedures.
• Support the nursing team with other tasks within training and demonstrated competency.

This position works under the direction of a registered nurse and helps patients feel comfortable, supported, and safe throughout their visit.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and assist with changing into surgical gowns, managing belongings, and getting settled in the pre-op area.
• Obtain and document vital signs as assigned, promptly reporting concerns to the registered nurse.
• Assist with toileting, mobility, positioning, and other basic patient care needs.
• Safely transport patients between pre-op, procedure rooms, and recovery areas using wheelchairs or stretchers.
• Assist with patient transfers using appropriate equipment and team support.
• Escort patients to their designated ride after the nurse authorizes discharge.
• Clean and prepare patient care spaces and equipment between patients according to facility protocols.
• Restock linens and supplies and help keep patient care areas organized.
• Follow infection prevention, patient privacy, and safety procedures.
• Support the nursing team with other tasks appropriate to training and demonstrated competency.

Qualifications

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Previous CNA or patient care experience preferred.
• Surgery center, hospital, pre-op, or recovery experience is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a patient-focused approach.
• Ability to assist safely with patient transfers and transport and perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
