This is a CNA position to support our sisters residing in non-Mercy owned 3rd party facilities, and also for those living independently. For a small community of retired Sisters in a setting that values dignity, compassion, and relationship-based care.

Key Responsibilities:

Visits with sisters regularly

Assists with Activities of Daily Living as appropriate

Assists and encourages sisters with eating and drinking

Turns, positions and transfers sisters to bed, chair, wheelchair, etc.

Monitors sisters’ physical and mental condition

Provides companionship

Maintains a healthy, safe environment in the sister’s apartments/rooms

Fosters relationships with facility staff

Reports all observations of concern to the Healthcare team

Keeps Healthcare team informed of schedule and visits

Other responsibilities: Accompanies sisters to outside appointments; encourages participation in activities; shopping for sisters as requested/needed. May be asked to assist in other ways not defined herein.

Other Functions:

Performs other duties as assigned by Manager requiring essentially the same skills, education and efforts as documented in this position.

Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-services and other required meetings.

May be required to work extended hours including evenings and weekends.

May be required to attend meetings or accompany Sisters to medical appointments

Qualifications:

Certified Nursing Assistant (active license) in the state of Maine, preferred

Other healthcare personnel may be considered with good experience

At least 2 years’ experience working with older adults

Valid driver’s license required, with clean driving record.
