Job summary

Altea Healthcare is seeking a Certified Nurse Practitioner to join a skilled nursing facility in Alabaster, Alabama. The weekend schedule supports work-life balance while delivering high-quality post-acute care.

You will diagnose, treat, and guide patients, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and positive outcomes for geriatric patients.

Qualifications

• Active NP license for Alabama or eligible to obtain.
• Current DEA registration or willingness to obtain prior to start date.
• Experience in geriatrics, internal medicine, or primary care preferred.
• Weekend scheduling availability is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient exams, review histories, and develop care plans.
• Order and interpret labs and imaging as needed.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions.
• Prescribe medications and monitor responses.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and facility staff.
• Educate patients and families on conditions and preventive care.
• Document care accurately in the EHR system.

What You’ll Do:

As a Certified NP, you will be a key clinical provider in a skilled nursing facility, diagnosing, treating, and guiding patients to better health. No two days are the same!

Your daily responsibilities include:

• Performing physical exams and reviewing medical histories.
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, etc.).
• Diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions.
• Prescribing medications and creating treatment plans.
• Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and facility staff.
• Educating patients and families on health conditions and preventive care.
• Documenting patient care accurately and efficiently.
