Job summary

Unified Women's Healthcare, LLC seeks a Certified Nurse-Midwife to join the Women\'s Health Care Center in Columbia, SC, delivering in a hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit at MUSC Northeast Campus. The role emphasizes safe, patient-centered obstetric care within a collaborative team.

Schedule is Monday–Thursday, 7:00 am–3:30 pm with no call, nights, weekends, or holidays. Compensation is $65–$70 per hour, plus benefits and malpractice coverage.

Qualifications

• AMCB Certified Nurse-Midwife required.
• ACME-accredited nurse-midwifery education required.
• MS/MSN in Nursing and an active RN license.
• CPR and NALS certification.
• DEA license or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage on Labor & Delivery unit and perform deliveries.
• Collaborate closely with OB/GYN physicians, nursing staff, and hospital personnel.
• Document patient care in compliance with clinical and regulatory standards.
• Support continuity of care for established patients.

Overview

Our affiliate, UWH of the Carolinas, is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife to join their prestigious Women's Health Care Center in Columbia, SC.. This position is ideal for a nurse midwife who thrives in a hospital environment, values collaborative care, and is committed to providing safe, patient-centered support throughout labor, delivery, and the postpartum period.

About Practice

• Team Structure: The practice consists of 11 OB/GYN generalist physicians, 15 laborist physicians, and 7 advanced practice providers
• Hospital: Medical University of South Carolina Northeast Campus Hospital in Columbia.
• Support: Strong administrative staff, nurse, and medical assistants

Position Highlights

• Estimated Deliveries per Month: 10-20 deliveries
• Schedule: Midwife schedule will generally be Monday-Thursday from 7am-330pm
• Call Schedule: This position does not require call, nights, weekends or holidays shifts.
• Provide coverage on Labor & Delivery unit and perform deliveries while practice physicians are in OR.
• Perform obstetric triage and respond to urgent maternal concerns.
• Collaborate closely with OB/GYN physicians, nursing staff, and hospital personnel.
• Document patient care in compliance with clinical and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate closely with other OB/GYN providers, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals when delivering care.
• Support continuity of care for established practice patients.
• Follow all practice protocols, hospital policies, and applicable professional standards.

Requirements

• AMCB Certified Nurse-Midwife
• Graduate of a nurse-midwifery education program accredited by ACNM Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME)
• Master's degree in Nursing (MS/MSN)
• Active and unrestricted state registered nurse (RN) license
• CPR and NALS Certification
• Current Unrestricted DEA License or ability to obtain
• One year or more of full-time experience as certified nurse midwife is required
• Labor & Delivery experience preferred
