Job summary

Synectics Inc. in Mount Pleasant, SC is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join a mission-driven birth center. This full-time or PRN role focuses on providing full-scope midwifery care in an out-of-hospital setting, emphasizing physiologic birth and relationship-based care.

You will manage antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum and newborn care, attend births, participate in on-call rotations, and collaborate with a team of CNMs and Birth Assistants to ensure continuity of care for patients.

Qualifications

• CNM certification required.
• Eligible for licensure in South Carolina.
• 3+ years midwifery experience preferred; motivated new graduates encouraged.
• Current CPR and NRP certifications.
• Strong commitment to patient-centered, collaborative care.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-scope midwifery care including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum and newborn care.
• Attend births in a freestanding birth center.
• Participate in on-call rotation.
• Work approximately two clinic days per week with a collaborative team of CNMs and Birth Assistants.
• Build trusting relationships with patients and ensure continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities

Provide Full-scope Midwifery Care, Including

• Antepartum (prenatal) care

• Postpartum care
• Newborn care
• Deliver comprehensive women's health services and patient education.
• Attend births in a freestanding birth center.
• Participate in an on-call rotation.
