Job summary

Aviva Senior Living in MA is seeking a Part Time Resident Assistant to join the weekend staff. You will support residents with daily activities, build relationships, and provide peace of mind to families.

You will work with a caring team, assist with ADLs, memory care duties, and participate in a supportive, regulation-compliant environment focused on quality of life for residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 year of caregiving experience; CNA certification preferred.
• Ability to assist residents with ADLs.
• Experience with memory impairments and secondary diagnoses.
• Patience, compassion, and a genuine desire to work with older adults.
• Maintain calm, professional demeanor and reassure residents and families.
• Strong communication with residents, families, providers, and leadership.
• Knowledge of state regulations related to senior care.
• English speaking, reading, and writing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Safely assist residents with daily living activities (ADLs) and transfers.
• Report changes in condition to the supervising nurse or care team.
• Document vitals, activities, incidents, and observations after each shift.
• Follow the individualized care schedule set by the supervising team.
• Provide emotional and social support to residents during shifts.
• Adhere to community policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Handle food safely according to policies and regulations.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Fulfill other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Shift Details:

We are currently searching for a Part Time Resident Assistant to join our weekend staff during the days or nights.

Please note this may change throughout employment as needed with notice.

What You Will Do

• Safely assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including transfers, personal hygiene, memory care stimulation, and social interaction
• Report any changes in residents' physical condition or behavior to the appropriate supervisor
• Complete accurate documentation in resident records including vitals, leisure activities, incidents, and observations no later than the end of each shift
• Follow the individualized care schedule established by the supervising nurse or care team
• Provide emotional and social support to residents throughout each shift
• Adhere to all community policies, procedures, and state regulations
• Handle food safely in accordance with facility policies and all applicable state and federal regulations
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance
• Fulfill other duties as assigned by the supervisor

What We Are Looking For

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• One year of related caregiving experience preferred; CNA certification preferred
• Ability to safely assist residents with ADLs
• Experience caring for residents with memory impairments and secondary diagnoses
• Patience, compassion, and a genuine desire to work with older adults
• Ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor and present a clean, reassuring image to residents and families
• Strong communication skills with residents, families, third party providers, and community leadership
• Knowledge of state regulations related to senior care
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English
