Job summary

Majestic Care Newburgh is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our caring team. You will provide direct, hands-on nursing care and support residents with daily activities to promote independence and dignity.

Responsibilities include ADL assistance, responding to call lights, reporting observations, assisting with admissions/transfers, and ensuring infection control and safety. Active CNA certification required; pay includes a $1000 sign-on bonus and benefits.

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification in the state of employment (valid and in good standing).
• Ability to provide direct hands-on nursing care and assist with activities of daily living.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to call lights to maximize comfort, safety and privacy.

Position Overview

The CNA is a member of the community nursing team whose responsibility is to assist professional nursing personnel by delivering direct hands-on nursing care to ambulatory and non-ambulatory residents on a daily basis. The CNA is also responsible for assisting the residents to achieve the highest level of functioning while living as normal a lifestyle as possible.

Key Responsibilities

• To perform or assist the resident with completing Activities of Daily Living (ADL).
• Respond to residents call lights to provide maximum comfort, safety and privacy.
• Transport residents by ambulation or by wheelchair to areas of community (dining room, lobby and activities).
• Report any significant findings/observations to nurse immediately.
• Assist residents on admission, transfer and discharge to make a smooth transition.
• Responsible for the safekeeping of residents’ personal possessions.
• Keep resident rooms neat and safe.
• Follow proper infection control techniques
• Respect the rights of each resident, particularly privacy and confidentiality.
• Re-teach resident to perform ADL skills.
• Provide restorative care to prevent pressure sores, contractures, and complications.
• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement and ensures follow-up occurs.
• Converse with resident and family; assist them on adjustment to the community.
• Ensure adequate hydration and nutrition of resident; report deviations from norm to the Charge Nurse promptly.
• Perform blood pressure, pulse, respirations, intake/output and weights accurately.

Qualifications

• Certified and state tested as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the state employed; certificate must be active, valid, and in good standing.
