Job summary

Silver Cross Hospital is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to support and complement the nursing process under the direction of a Registered Nurse. You will provide patient care in a fast-paced telemetry unit and assist with daily activities.

The role requires Illinois CNA certification, CPR, 18+ years, and strong customer service. Night shifts are 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with rotating weekends and holidays; prior hospital experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be state-certified CNA in Illinois.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• CPR certification required.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to care for patients with compassion in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous hospital experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing assistance under the supervision of the registered nurse.
• Complete patient care timely and accurately based on the prescribed plan of care with the RN.
• Complete documentation according to hospital policy.
• Perform clerical/receptionist functions on the nursing units.
• Promote a clean and safe environment of care using SAFE error prevention habits.
• Maintain privacy and confidentiality in matters involving patients and staff.

Position Summary:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver nursing assistance to patient utilizing each patient’s physical, psychological, cultural, nutritional, and functional needs under the supervision of the registered nurse
• Completes patient care timely and accurately based on the prescribed plan of care in conjunction with the Registered Nurse
• Completes documentation according to specific hospital policy
• Performs clerical / receptionist functions on the nursing units
• Promotes a clean and safe environment of care, utilizing the SAFE error prevention habits
• Provides the highest standard of privacy and confidentiality in matters involving patients, coworkers, and the hospital by abiding by the Standards of Conduct

Required Qualifications:

• Currently certified by the state of Illinois as a CNA.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• CPR certified.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to care for patients with compassion and maintain quality in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous hospital experience strongly preferred.

Work Shift Details:

Nights -12 Hours, 7p-7a with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.
